I've known about Le Chameau's quality and attention to tradition for years and wanted a pair of my own. My brother has had a pair (the Chasseur) for years and has worn them a great deal, but they still look brilliant. I bought a pair of the All Tracks Lady boots for my mother as a gift and they proved so excellent that I got a pair for myself. As an environmentally conscious organic farmer, the fact that they are handmade of sustainably harvested natural rubber was THE selling point for me. But now that I've worn them, I've found that natural rubber is simply better than synthetic material. It is supple, gives under pressure and movement, but keeps its original shape and doesn't tear. It doesn't become hard and cold in lower temperatures. These boots are just great for doing barn chores, trekking out, hunting, horseback riding, and scrambling over bramble bushes, fences, fallen trees, and stone walls. Beyond that, they have a lean, fitted look that gives them a simple elegance. Wonderful boots!
After wearing my beautiful red ladies iris fur Le Chameau's to a dinner party, the hostess bought the same pair to wear to a "True Blood" themed fundraiser! We both love them and are shopping now for the next pair!!
Regardless of the season here in Maine, my Chasseur's keep my feet dry, and warm, allowing me to enjoy taking our dogs Rainer and Keeper on long walks during the long winter's deep snows, or the natural flora drenched by heavy fog in Maine's other season, July.
They're so inviting to wear on a wet, slushy, mucky day I actually look forward to "bad" days so I can slip into these and venture out. Both of my Chameau boots are wonderfully sturdy, comfortable, extremely well made, handsomely elegant, ooze understated confidence in a classically stylish, subtle manner. They cannot ever be taken for being cheap, tacky, fad-ish, unreliable or prententious...which unfortunately can describe a great number of fashion "rain" boots seen on women over the last couple of years. For the money, Chameau is the obvious choice.
I'm a huge fan of tall rain boots esp when they are good quality. I have owned 3 pairs of great rain boots in my lifetime that ripped and tore and I was really upset because they all have been discontinued. I hear these are the best and I am excited to wear and have these forever! It's also good to know that these will not be discontinued and if I want another color or pair they will be available. I have only had them for a bit now and I kid you not men and women have been coming up to me right and left complimenting me on my boots. NO JOKE!! I love my red le chameau's!!! :)
I own 7 or 8 pair of various Le Chameau boots and shoes that are all extrodinarily well made and comfortable to wear all day long for work or play!
I love my Chameau boots because they are practical, comfortable, and stylish. I love the color, too!
My grandfather had a pair of these for over four decades. I have always wanted a pair, and finally bought them. I can't wait for some foul weather in which to try out my new Chasseurs.
Every member of my family has a pair. They are the world's best boots.
I got these for my husband after he got me a pair over 10 years ago. I am still wearing them and there is no wear or tear to them at all, and I get compliments on them all the time. They are great and super comfortable, even with all my feet problems. Thanks for a wonderful, quality product.
I bought a pair of ladies Gold Iris 2 boots because it's made of 100% natural rubber and I love the gold color which is hard to find in rubber boots. I bought synthetic rubber boots before but they always seem to crack and tear on the side and are less resilient. They are a lot heaper but they don't last very long.
Been wearing boots hunting for many years. These are the best and most comfortable I have found.
I have used some boots borrowed from a friend in Quebec while fishing there and decided to get my own. They are comfortable walking in the tundra and wet conditions in the spring and do a good job keeping my feet from sweating. And, they look nice.
